What you will do:​

  • Explore text work playing with scenes from various body image literature
  • Improvise comedy scenes and characterisation
  • Draw inspiration from current body image activists​

These sessions are inspired by:

  • Drama and improvisation techniques
  • Poetry
  • Classic body image literature

What you will get:

  • 3 hour session​
  • 1 to 1 feedback from lead Daredevil​
  • A minimum of 2 tools and techniques for building confidence and body confidence

    Ursula was amazing… warm, kind and attentive to even the shyest of people… she helped me take a risk outside of my comfort zone. The session was SO GOOD!!!

    Been thinking of the group all week and feeling really grateful to be part of the group – Tuesday was such a wonderful day.

    It really seems like the course just evolves so much. We are looking at the idea of beauty in depth – I think the ‘challenging the assumptions’ pair work and discussion with the group and the ‘agree or disagree’ games and discussion really got us to unpick some of the damaging messages/behaviours that we as a society have unconsciously bought into and the unhealthy vicious cycle it can hook many people in. These activities we covered together with the video clip and the personal writing of ‘what body part we want to change to be happier’ is so useful to help to start to question some unhelpful thinking/behaviours and look into what leads one to think/feel/behave this way and ways we can start to move towards self acceptance.
    I’m happy.
    Really glad to know the course is running for longer!

    Can’t believe we covered so much in 3-hours…it does seem like a good amount of time. Think it was a women only course 4-years ago so it seems like a great thing that you open it up to other genders as it’s important to have a space for all to be as welcome/comfortable/supported to benefit, share and work through the less loved bits they feel about themselves and hear different perspectives from different sexes and find ways we can support each other to develop ourselves greater and form better relationships.

    Also thanks very much to Christine too for being so considerate of our refreshment needs etc.
