Welcome to the team that dares! They will support you through your daring journey...
Ursula, lead Daredevil, says “I find theatre, arts, group work and collaboration with people with lived experience within mental and public health changes lives. At Project Dare we are able to provide the environment for people to feel empowered to make changes on their own, long after the course has completed”.
Ursula says “Bijal began her daring journey in 2013 when she volunteered to help out with the course. Bijal is a qualified teacher – a courageous and hard-working lady. Her passion for drama, teaching and belief that every person should adore their body shines through. You will find Bijal energetic, compassionate and attentive to your needs”.
Ryan is the official Project Dare cameraman. He helps us record journeys through select Project Dare workshops and also records awesome videos of our promotions at events. We take written consent for any materials used and are happy to edit someone out if you would prefer not to be filmed, however, we think you might surprise yourself!
Nicol is our resident photographer. Nicol is bursting with passion, energy and creativity – so a natural fit for Dare. Nowadays, digital media forms a vital part of our lives it can often feel like we are on show. For people like myself (who have worried about their bodies), having a photo taken can be fraught with worry. How we feel about ourselves in photographs can trigger deep emotions which we will explore on the course.
Meet Albee. Albee is one of many volunteers we have to support people’s journey through the Dare Sessions. Albee has a fierce passion for body image rights and helping others. She is one of the most empathetic, intuitive and intelligent humans we know and we are extremely fortunate to have her as part of the team that Dares!
Ursula says “Our advisory board contains people with off the chart talent, all united to support people on their journey to body confidence and wave goodbye to insecurities preventing individuals from leading their lives to the full. Each person pictured is 100% committed to your development from the start of your body confidence journey until you no longer need us…”
The advisory board is set up to represent all sections of our community. We ensure service users, carers, support workers, GP’s, psychologists and counselors all contribute to making Project Dare the most innovative program it can be with the best results UK wide.
