What a fantastic morning we had promoting Project Dare, meeting wonderful people and generally enjoying ourselves..
Lol, as per usual.. 😉
This week Ursula and I (Nicol) set up the mobile Project Dare Stall of ‘Magic and Wonder’ at South Londons Living Well Networks (LWN) Open Morning…
The LWN Open Morning is an amazing opportunity to find out about different services and what’s happening in Lambeth, and surrounding areas, in regards to mental wellbeing. It’s a chance for anyone to pop in and see what’s currently available in the area, talk to those who are running them and meet all kinds of wonderful people.
At Project Dare you are taught to celebrate your body and your mind and so being able to attend events like this is brilliant. The event is free and as a visitor you can mingle and have a proper chat to one of the team about what we can offer you with no obligation to sign up or anything, you can just ask any questions you have there and then!
We had a great time meeting with all the other various services that were represented today. As the resident Dareographer I had loads of photos I wanted to click and bless her, Ursula, was very patient with me asking her to pose with almost everyone there lol. It was a crack and it was a nice way to break the ice talking with everyone and also get people asking, “what is Project Dare?”
So come on down to the Living Well Partnership (Mosaic Clubhouse 65 Effra Road, Brixton, London SW2 1BZ) and have a giggle and a chin-wag with us and find out more about how Project Dare can benefit you and your loved ones…
The next events will be held on the following days from 11:00-12:30pm:
- 28th May 2015
- 25th June 2015
- 30th July 2015
- 27th August 2015
Ursula says “You secure your deposit for a place on the Dare Sessions via our website but many of our Darers have popped along to an event such as the LWN to say hello, put faces to the names, find out more or just have a natter. It never ceases to amaze me the sheer number of incredible and inspirational businesses, services and opportunities available often around the corner from where you may live. London is a vast City and its easy to miss out on what’s happening on your doorstep. LWN event is a great way of discovering all kinds of wellbeing services and support whilst encouraging communities to collaborate. When communities work together it has the knock on effect of nurturing individual souls.. Thank you for having us LWN” xxx
P.S. There is a (service user run) yummy, scrummy cafe on the premises and it would be awesome to meet you!
